He could feel the weight of the skin hanging under his tired eyes as he did so, the beads of sweat dripping down his forehead. Quick, grisly images flashed through his mind on how he would kill him. Whitaker swallowed hard. Robby bet that if he held his fingers to the boy’s pulse, it’d beat like a scared rabbit. “Okay?”
Robby scoffed and crossed his arms, losing all of his patience. “So what the hell happened while I was gone to make him look at you like that?”

Robby returns from his sabbatical, alive and with a new attitude change, expecting the Pitt to be the same. It is, for the most part, but as the days pass by, he notices a new development—tension lingering between Dennis and Jack. And for some reason, they won’t tell him what happened when he was away.
