Summary
Instead of dissolving with Viktor like Jayce expected, he gets sent a decade into the past when Viktor didn’t even know him yet. Of course the logical action to take is to kidnap him. Meanwhile Viktor, twenty-two years old, figures that hey, as long as he can research magic, this isn’t too bad of a predicament.
Or: Post-Season 2 Jayce and Season 1 Viktor, the grief of having lost your soulmate while having to look at his younger version who doesn’t even know you, the endless exhaustion of being a second-hand love and also science.

It wasn't Jayce, not quite. This man looked years older, ragged, as if he had walked through all hells to come here, greasy hair, grown-out beard, scraped up and swaying. There was a glint in his eyes, one that spoke of violence and pain. A hammer was in his hand, rainbow core pointed straight at Viktor.
Instead of appearing several months after the wild rune took him, Jayce lands in the past and decides to take out Viktor before he can turn into the monster he saw in the future.

In fact, their whole penchant for getting up to no good in the most inconvenient of places is sort of his omega’s doing to begin with. Ignis may take his work seriously, but it’s not like he wears those tight-fitting clothes for practical purposes.
Five times they were almost caught, and the one time they were.
