Vincent, startled, tensed as the voice from the man across him hit his ears. How long was he staring? Couldn’t have been more than, what, 10 minutes?
“No— I wasn’t—"
“What do you want?” Alastor started, stealing the end of his sentence, looking bored.
Vincent Whittman wanted many things. He didn’t advance to the front of every newspaper, his name written in bold black letters on every headline, his name engulfing the atmosphere of every room he walked into, being content with what he's got.
And now, he was looking at Alastor—his curls, his soft parted lips, his smooth dark skin—like a man starved.

The idea alone was enough to make Sonic snort a laugh in disbelief. The added thought of Shadow willingly working together with his friends made another chuckle bubble through his chest.
