He didn’t particularly mean to say it, even though it is true, because you can’t just make other people’s homes yours. Yoriichi knows that. After all, his childhood home was always his twin’s and never his. ‘’My childhood home was… complicated. It wasn’t really mine, you see. It was my twin brother’s, and my fathers, and the only thing my mother and I had to our name was a three tatami mat room in which we slept. I loved my brother, just as I loved my mother, but that house was a prison. It couldn’t really be called a home.’’
And Sumiyoshi smiles as bright as the sun, lighting up the night. ‘’Ah, but Yoriichi-san. Don’t you know houses aren’t homes? It’s the people in it who are.’’
