Nobody calls Stephanie Harrington “Stephanie”, or even “Steph.” There are five other Stephanies in her grade, and there are only so many nicknames that name can derive. Instead, she goes by Stevie, because when she was a kid, her best friend Tommy’s older brother used to tease and call her Steve or Stephan.
