    He made Izuku and Katsuki struggle, in the beginning. It was bad enough that father had always seen teaching Shouto barbarian customs as beneath his hopes and dreams of unifying the lands into one kingdom, and when Katsuki first pressed a hand-carved necklace into his hands with a muttered the nerd helped Shouto just said oh, thank you and started wearing it in public fully unaware he was very loudly telling the world he was engaged, claimed, and then three weeks later Izuku had to hold back a red-faced Katsuki by the cape while he yelled about mixed signals and fuckin’ make up your mind, we like you approximately three centimeters away from Shouto’s face.

    It was, in short, a bit of a journey.
