Lu Shang whips around. Bi Tao watches him, propped against a nearby shelf, sharp lips curled into a cruel sort of smirk.
“Bi Tao,” Lu Shang greets, voice like a frozen lake. “You startled me.”
Bi Tao cocks his head. “Did I? My humble apologies,” he says, not sounding sorry in the least.

Kikyo doesn’t remember dying. There’s the mark of the events that lead up to it, but her last breath? She can’t recall at what point she entered Death. It’s like trying to extract memories from the womb and drawing an existential blankness, then catching an odd chill because you ought to not reach that far back into your existence.
And there are consequences every time she tries to scratch her brain. She is Kikyo. She knows what it means to be Her, but is this the same Kikyo? This version of herself is irreparable, hysterical with confusion. Wrathful even. At times, unraveling into a fit rage makes her feel better.
