Surprise reflected in Corlys' eyes. Rhaenys had stopped bleeding a couple of years ago, and the idea of a new child seemed like a miracle and at the same time an augury. Something almost poetic settled on his mind: once he had believed that his daughter Leana would be married by the king, now he was trying to unite his son Laenor with the crown princess. This baby must mean something, this new Velaryon would be everything to his own family. An ideal embodied in blood and tide.

In Camelot's golden age, Merlin and Arthur are heading towards middle age together. Merlin still loves Arthur’s body, with all the fervour of that young boy who answered him back when they first met.
