For a moment the hunter stays still and it crosses Astaroth's mind that they might tell him to leave, but that thought goes as quickly as it came when they offer their arm to his outstretched hand. Instinct he still hasn't been able to shake kick in and Astaroth closes his fingers around their arm, only for them to pass through, a chill left in its place that makes the hunter shiver, goosebumps roughening the scarred surface of their skin.
Astaroth frowns. No matter how much time passes where they try something like this, the result is always the same. Was this not the definition of insanity? Expecting something different from attempting the same thing over and over again?
It’s unbecoming. Of both of them.
The hunter gets hurt during one of their hunts and needs wounds tended to. Pity that Astaroth can't help.

They frown, hand hovering over the first aid kit. It's the only thing that they think would be all that useful. But they don't get a chance to decide before a noise echoes from the vent, and Vega yelps in surprise. The noise snorts.
Bones unfurls himself from the vent with far more grace than Vega could have, raising himself just above her line of sight. Having to look up to meet his gaze feels familiarly debasing, preemptively ruining her mood for the interaction. He fixes them with an amused look that immediately has them on edge—she's used to being underestimated or undermined, but that's in her work and her social life. Scoffed at for being an astronomer and given those sideways glances when they say something just a bit too loud or too blunt. Being looked at like that here, that familiar derision in a game where being underestimated could easily become death, makes her stomach churn.
“I didn't think someone so uptight would find their way in here with me,” Bones says, eyes observing the room. “Breaking and entering is a crime, you know?”
(vegabones if vega group went to the store vent instead of the bar one. hijinks ensue)
