“Ah, always such a joy to see young people blossoming together.” She blinks under thick, fake eyelashes. “I’m happy to see you have chosen our restaurant for your date!” Her voice is high-pitched, screeching like someone announced they are getting married.
A rush of horror climbs up inside Reki’s body. Suddenly, he feels as hot and fluid as the stearine in the candle. “Wait umm…” Two sets of eyes stare at him. Reki chuckles, but it’s strained, stuck in his throat. “I-I’m sorry, but you must have been mistaken.” He coughs. “We aren’t dating. We don’t like each other that way. We are only… roommates.”
When you mix pining roommates, a romantic dinner, and Valentine's day, what else can ensue than a cascade of misunderstandings?

When Rantaro reaches the last couple rungs of the ladder, he jumps, dusting himself off when he lands with a relaxed smile. There’s concern in his eyes though, which shine in the late afternoon sunlight that comes in through the pothole, and Kaede swallows when she sees it. “You alright? I noticed you didn’t come back up with the rest of us.”
“I-I’m fine, sorry to make you come looking for me, I didn’t mean to,” Kaede rambles, starting to push herself back up. Rantaro makes a dismissive gesture with his hand and then slides both of them into his pockets, coming over next to Kaede.
“Can I sit?” he asks.

Rantaro sticks around to comfort Kaede after the tunnel disaster in chapter one, and then Kaede returns the favour after the game.

Summary
The trails were unpredictable and twisting and even though most of them got the wandering little boys lost, there were some that led to the brightest places of Shouyou and Atsumu’s childhood.
One such place they stumbled upon was at the far edge of the forest. It began as a small beam of bright light that Atsumu pointed at one day and grew brighter as they ran closer, skipping past the tall trees of the forest and into a meadow blooming with the brightest golden sunflowers they had ever seen.
‘Himawari.’ Atsumu whispered under his breath in awe, his heart skipping a beat. An ache started up somewhere in his chest. Unrecognizable, lingering and sweet.
Shouyou was gaping beside him, staring and filled with a wonder that only eyes softened with childhood could be. As Atsumu turned his gaze away from the sunflowers and towards Shouyou, he felt himself harmonizing with them, with their need to turn towards the sun wherever it went.
