His mouth wasn't a Sahara desert. His hands weren't shaking. There was absolutely no reason for his talons to dig into the handles of the chair until the material stopped giving beneath them, and there was certainly no reason for him to keep digging after that, when there was no more give left to find. The world did not stop, either, as though somebody had dropped an atomic bomb on a record player and shattered the needle against the silence. His ears did not ring. His blood did not rush hot into them. Nothing happaned, because Battat knew that was not true.
"I don't know what you're talking about."

Finally in the kitchen, he started setting the bags down on the counter — or whatever sliver of counter space was actually available — but the second he turned his head, the salesman was back in his personal space, flowers clasped behind his back and leaning inwards to the die . "WELL WELL WELL NOW!!! A [Premium Purchase] LIKE THI5..." He rocked back on his heels. "DESERVE A LITTLE [Customer Loyalty Reward], DOESN;T IT??? A [[Smooch]]!!! JUST ONE!!! [All sales final]!!!"

A small snippet inspired by the fic Slow Poison. I thought the idea of spamton and Battat living together was cool, so I imagined my own future dynamic with the two and wrote a quick snippet before I had to go to work.

Summary
Tenna's expression doesn't so much as flicker as he leans down toward the smaller darkner. Battat only now notices the cigarette resting between his fingers, hovering just over Ralsei's shoulder before it's stubbed out against him. Ralsei yelps, lurches to pull away, but Tenna's other hand clamps down on his opposite shoulder and holds him in place. Finally, Tenna grins.
"Listen here little prince," he drawls out the word in such a way Battat can only assume is loaded with something Battat has no context for and doesn't much like the sound of anyway. "My business isn't yours. I'd suggest you keep cowering behind your little lightner friends before I'm forced to do something I'll really regret."

You don't want to answer it, but there is no one else left to hear the words, so you give them to it anyway. Take them to the grave, you tell it. Hell is a two-person destination. We're both in this car wreck, you and I, both of us strapped into the same wreckage, and theres no version of tonight where trying to make a good decision or a bad one matters even a little. Our choices never mattered.
It tells you it knows. It says it's been told these words before.

Summary
As the prophecy predicted, Tenna was destroyed by the Roaring Knight, after being talked down by the heroes. They weren't the perfect guests, and as a result, there aren't enough people willing to rebuild him. Except for his right hand man, who is quite...attached to him. Unfortunately, that love isn't returned in the way he wishes it was.
A certain demon lurking in the shadows thinks this is a real shame. Why does someone like Tenna deserve this Pippins' admiration, after everything he has put him through? Someone should teach him how to treat his employees!
A little rewiring should do the trick just fine!
AKA: FRIEND revives Tenna by becoming him, in order to give Battat the love he deserves. They sign up for a lot more than anticipated.

Spamton G. Spamton is definitely a terrible friend.
Somehow, that results in him convincing Pippins to skip work, getting it dolled up, and dragging it out to Cyber City for the first time in its life…on an outing that is definitely not a date. It's really not. They’re just, y’know, coworker-friend-buddy-pals. Okay, sure, Pippins looks damn cute in his clothes, and they probably held hands for way too long, but honestly, they’ve got a completely normal working relationship.
He is definitely, totally, not completely fucked.

Mike was not an idiot.
Mike was a lot of things. Tenna’s right hand man, his closest confidant! Floor manager, costume designer, record keeper, self-taught psychologist, shock-therapy specialist, bed-time storyteller extraordinaire, the list continues. An investigator, an actor… a pippins. But an idiot, at least he hoped, was not an entry on his extensive resume.
So needless to say, he did not believe the strange puppet-man-thing currently cornering him in the alley when it claimed to be his boss’s former business partner.
