“Ilya, what are we gonna do?” Shane says.
Ilya finishes whatever he has been doing on his phone, and tosses it gently to the bed beside him. He crosses the room to Shane, stands in front of him, squeezes into his shoulders with his big hands, rubbing them like he means to warm them up.
“Looks like we will have a little vacation,” he says, with a big obnoxious grin.
Boston and Montreal are sent to Paris to play against each other in an exhibition series in January 2017. Ilya and Shane decide to stay in Paris for one more night. Just one more night, so they can talk. Maybe finally understand each other.
They aren't expecting a volcano to erupt in Iceland and close all the airspace in Europe, leaving them stranded there. Together.

Summary
Ilya Rozanov has a gift.
He can speak to animals, which has earned him an incredibly successful career as a pet psychic, and far too much information about what people do when they think their pets aren’t watching.
Shane Hollander has a problem.
His cat, Pork, is permanently miserable. After exhausting every sensible option, Shane turns to the supernatural for assistance.
After their first appointment, Pork grows visibly happier - his cat’s found a hobby and renewed sense of purpose for achieving his only goal: to destroy Ilya for good.

Summary
No serious hockey fan or sports commentator worth their salt would have considered record-breaking Boston superstar Ilya Rozanov to be Shane Hollander’s rival exactly, but sleeping with a man who had a specific offense-related vendetta against him and a wrist shot like a jet engine to back it up was probably ill-advised just the same.
Or, Shane is a goalie. Ilya can’t score.

Summary
Ilya Rozanov is having a very good night. He’s scored a goal, his edges are perfect, and his chirping of the Vegas Golden Knights’ roster is reaching art-form levels of arrogance. But hockey is a game of physics and ruts in the ice, and it only takes one meaningless check in the third period for Ilya’s season to shatter in a single, sickening crack.
Three hundred miles away, Shane Hollander is forced to watch the replay in a silent equipment room.
When Shane finally breaks and calls Boston forward Cliff Marlow, he expects to be met with confusion or hostility. What follows is meddling teammates who insist on doing laundry, PT that involves more sitting and standing reps than really feels necessary, and a boyfriend who is one research paper away from a medical degree. Plus, so much kale.
