The words shouldn’t have affected Harris. He knew the Centaurs weren’t a traditional team; they were better in so many ways Harris lost count. They had accepted Harris, each of them, with open arms. They never once made Harris feel lesser about his job.
Or his sexuality.
Or his income.
Or his body."Harris's self confidence take a bit of a nose dive after hearing some of the more hurtful comments Troy's father had. Bood is way more observant than anyone gives him credit for. Apologies and barbecues ensue.
I'm definitely playing fast and loose with this book's timeline here. Basically, this is "what if Troy's dad had confronted Harris wayyyy earlier in the book?" So, this fic takes that brief interaction from the end of Role Model and places it somewhere in the earliest blossoming of Harris's relationship with Troy.
It's angst. If you've ever read any of my works for other fandoms, I'm sure you know exactly my brand of angst. I have been obsessed with this book series, and there's a lack of fics for Troy & Harris. Here is my little contribution.
