Summary
Sixth year. The Marauders are growing older, the world is growing darker, and Remus Lupin is running out of strength he never had to spare.
What starts as ordinary exhaustion after the full moon slowly becomes something heavier, quieter, and far more dangerous. Remus is thinner than he should be, angrier than he wants to be, and terrified of the way his body keeps betraying him. He is the one who is meant to be steady, dependable, fine — even when he isn’t.
James worries too loudly. Peter worries too quietly. Sirius worries like it’s a war he intends to win. And none of them know how to help without breaking something fragile inside him.
Full moons get worse. Bones break. Tempers snap. Care becomes something painful and desperate and necessary. Remus is unraveling, and his friends refuse to let him do it alone — whether he likes it or not.
A slow burn descent and recovery story about hunger, anger, vulnerability, and the terrifying tenderness of being loved when you don’t believe you deserve it.

"I felt disappointed because, after years of trying to convince myself that I wasn't like other werewolves, that I was still good, that I wasn't a monster... I was proven wrong."
OR: After The Prank that Sirius plays on Snape, Remus decides to leave Hogwarts. He spirals into self-hatred, doing anything to forget about his former friends and "monstrous" self. Eventually, though, his friends find him. Things only get worse after that.
