A freight uniform, if she had to guess, made for utility and ease rather than presentation, and as soon as she glances up, she looks back down again at rough, dirt-stained hands delicately helping clear up the remains of her lunch.
“They’re horrible, that lot,” the truck continues, faint smile on his youthful face as he happily picks through the dirt, “nothin’ they like to do more than makin’ newcomers feel pathetic - you were real brave standin’ up to them like that.”

Dinah had been more than happy to go off with her, a little less so when it became plain that Greaseball seemed mainly interested in showing her off as she regaled the other engines by recounting her victories over the past season. But she noticed those yellow eyes straying to her frequently, a tentative hope there each time. Greaseball was trying to impress her more than the engines, not realizing Dinah didn't need those stories to be impressed, to be interested.
