    Summary

Mycroft's eyes darted to the open drawer, still slightly ajar, and then to Charlie perched smugly on Albert, feathers fluffed as if thoroughly pleased with himself. “Albert?” His voice came from the doorway, smooth but edged with curiosity. His footsteps were measured as he stepped into the room, glancing towards everything that was moved.

The drawer was open. Albert was stiff, almost caught mid-motion. And Charlie… Charlie was sitting on Albert’s shoulder, looking far too content. The older man's gaze narrowed, and something flickered behind his eyes, a mix of suspicion and resignation. “Charlie” he said dryly, taking a step closer “what exactly did you let him find?

    Summary

" 'Fuck are you doing to me," Mycroft mumbles. He sinks further into Albert's arms. The sea has never seemed quieter, the water never so still.

Albert laughs, low and content. "I could ask the same to you." He tightens his hold, and hums softly.

If time stopped forever encasing them in a golden drop of amber, Mycroft thinks he would not mind very much.

Mycroft is a sailor. Almost drowning is part of his profession. However, this time, it should have been impossible to survive. He resolves to brush it off, and move on.

Unfortunately, whatever saved him does not share his sentiments.

"That was bold of you, my Lady," Albert murmured, his eyes narrowing with a mix of amusement and admiration. "I almost didn’t recognize you."

The woman—no, Mycroft—smiled, faintly but without pretense.

    "That means my disguise worked."

Albert let out a long breath. "Enjoying yourself?"

He asked, somewhat jokingly but still seriously.

    “No more than necessary.”

    Summary

Albert chose to be imprisoned in the Tower of London as a form of penance after Will's...fall. It was his choice.

He never expected a carrier pigeon to show up on his windowsill with a rather perplexing message in all-too familiar handwriting:

'Did you know they used messenger pigeons in Ancient Egypt?'

To be fair, it was also Albert's choice to respond.
