Summary
Yawning, Eijirou navigates his way around a few tripping hazards in the dark to go greet his unexpected guest and is mildly surprised when he opens the door.
Bakugou, in most of his hero uniform, leans heavily against the door frame and sopping wet from the rain. He must have just come off the late night shifts he’s been taking a lot of lately. His mask hangs loosely around his neck, but the collar and cumbersome gauntlets are nowhere to found, probably left behind at work headquarters.
He looks more exhausted than Eijirou feels. These late shifts can’t be treating him too well if the dark circles around his eyes and his slouch are any indication. His eyes are locked on some empty space between himself and Eijirou’s shoulder, and he doesn’t bother to look up even with Eijirou standing there in front of him.
Bakugou shows up sick at Kirishima's apartment after a late shift, and the two get past some awkwardness over their last visit with each other.

“You always fuckin' kiss me before I leave,” he spat out, hating the way that heat pooled into his cheeks, hating how desperate he was.
Kirishima’s eyes were shiny again when he dipped his head back down to stare at the floor.
“I don’t want to…” he whispered.
He didn’t want to.
Katsuki’s jaw clenched so tight he wasn’t sure if it was ever going to open again. Kirishima didn’t want to kiss him.
Was this it? Were they… over?
It sure felt like it.

Summary
Bakugo nearly falls through the door when it opens. Kirishima, Red Riot, comes into focus, and his eyes flash with fear, maybe a little worry before masking themselves back into the stone-cold red that Bakugo’s used to seeing. Maybe the concern was just a trick of the light, maybe something that Bakugo’s adrenaline-infused mind just made up.
He could kill me easily, Bakugo thinks. Or he could just let me die.
But as his pain-addled mind debates those outcomes as well as it can, Kirishima is doing none of those things, and is hoisting him up gently so Bakugo’s weight can comfortably rest on him as his feet lift off of the floor.
“Who got you?” Are the words out of Kirishima’s mouth, soft yet filled with anger; and then, quieter: "I'll kill them."

It’s odd, hearing Bakugou speak so calmly about death and loss. Bakugou is all fire and rage and sparks flying from the palms of his hands, fighting tooth and nail to be the best, to be number one, to survive another day. But now, in this isolated and frigid cave, he is cool, he is collected, he has accepted that he may very well die in excruciating pain without seeing the love of his life again.
And it kills Kaminari.

Summary
Kirishima pushed into his space and wouldn’t give him room to breathe. There was all the adrenaline of a fight and none of the anger; Bakugou didn’t have to hold back. Kirishima took whatever he dished out with a grin, body made of stone against the heat of Bakugou’s palms.
They ended up on the ground, as they often did, fighting hand to hand where Bakugou’s speed and Kirishima’s power had failed them both. Bakugou landed a particularly hard knee in Kirishima’s stomach, muscles not quite hardened in time to block the pain. It must have been agonizing.
Kirishima laughed.
His eyes were bright and his hands were unyielding and he was big enough to surround Bakugou. He’d grown so much in the time they’d known each other, physically and otherwise. He was strong, and sure, and staggeringly talented. There was no one who could keep up with him like that, both in and out of a fight. Bakugou loved him.
Bakugou loved him.

They were supposed to be directly fighting each other but with one of them playing a villain, encouraged to fight dirty and think on their feet to fight against an unlikely team-up. It was supposed to test the solo “villain’s” ability to think on their feet and anticipate while the team was being evaluated on their ability to adapt to on the fly quirk combinations and unlikely situations. Some of them, like Momo and Sato and Aoyama, struggled a bit more than others with the villain role.
Others were shockingly good at it. Ochako had been having a blast the entire time, Iida continued to excel, and Tokoyami had played up his own more spooky allure.
Kirishima was among one of the good ones.

Summary
He sighed against Bakugou’s lips between kisses that kept the same slow pace, never growing in their neediness. Instead, they were just assurances, the equivalent of the whispered words Bakugou was no good at coming up with. Still, they served the same purpose, letting Kirishima know that he was there, that he always would be.
Each touch was like a tiny stitch that mended the chasm in Kirishima’s chest, filling the emptiness, brightening the darkness. Every kiss was a silent promise that everything would be okay.
Some days, everything goes right: they catch the bad guy and save everyone and no one gets hurt. Most days, that isn't the case. But no matter what, they're both there for each other.

Maybe a sane person wouldn’t put up with it. They’d probably call the whole thing unhealthy, say that Bakugou should learn to express his feelings. People have suggested to Kirishima in the past that he put his foot down and demand they talk about things. They’ve gritted their teeth as they told him Bakugou was playing games with him, looked at him with pity as if they were cluing him into something everyone knew but him, something truly awful. But of course Kirishima knew. How could he not? Katsuki wasn’t just playing games with him. They were playing games together.
And Kirishima was positively addicted to them.
