Summary
The first time I realised ghost stories didn't scare me anymore was when I was midway through walking through a pit of screaming people. Their cries felt distant, as if I was simply within a daydream of someone else’s making - watching myself calmly trample over them, evoking blood-curdling shrieks every time I crushed a hand or two. Sinking them deeper into the mass of flesh.
My only thought was:
‘Huh. So is this what those lunatics felt while I was fighting the urge to double over and vomit?”
Or: in a world where Kim Soleum returns to Daydream Inc. and has his points reset after he was entangled in Braun’s Late Night Talk Show for a month, he feels like he will be trapped there for as long as he lives.

The old man blindly reached out his hand, praying he’d reach him. As his hand grasped the young man’s wrist, he felt the crowd freeze around him. The surroundings were reduced to a blur. Air stood still. The young man looked back, the singular living thing in this pale existence.
“…Merlin?”
Arthur, his eyes screamed in response.
He couldn't bear to speak, he knew it wouldn't be coherent. A voice broken and torn from all the ages spent calling out his name to a desolate world. -

“Lazing off again? You never do miss an opportunity to take a break, do you?”
Merlin let out a hearty laugh. A ridiculous laugh. He was so afraid that he would never be able to hear that taunting voice again. He turned his head to see that familiar head of golden locks in the grass next to him. They lay together in silence for a few seconds before Merlin finally took another deep breath.
