A rush of self-consciousness turns Todd's face a shade redder, even as he tries to blow it off with a dismissive exhale of air. “Jealous? Of Scott Pilgrim?”
“Why not?” Wallace sets his glass down, eyeing him with a glint of evident amusement in his gaze. “Scott’s cute.”
“Puppies are cute. Scott Pilgrim’s twitchy.”
Wallace shrugs. “Twitchy can be cute.”
This is getting annoying now. “Do you like him?”

"You were having another Wallace dream, which I wouldn’t usually interrupt,” Lucas told him, casually - wait, did that mean he’d been listening every time Todd got off in his sleep?! “But then you started…crying.”
Todd immediately began to scrub at his face, brushing away the cooling tears, forcing a smile. “Nah. I wasn’t crying. It was just - just some scary shit, that’s all. Nothing bad, I mean.” He swallowed, thickly. “I woke you up?”
Lucas nodded. There was this look on his face that Todd didn’t recognize - it almost seemed like…care? Actual concern for the wellbeing of a person other than himself? “Do you…need anything?” Lucas asked. “A drink or whatever? A breakfast burrito?”
Wallace shuts Todd down once and for all. A heartbroken Todd has no one in his corner waiting for him - except Lucas Lee? Who's apparently his roommate now? And who, as it turns out, isn't really all that bad...?
