Summary
Mara is one of the brightest scholars the University of Orlais has ever seen, but she wasn’t always one. Five years ago she was but a young woman who suddenly found herself in Thedas. Since then, she has clawed her way to the top and found others like her. Acknowledging that neither she nor they would ever get out of Thedas alive on their own, they decided to band together and create a secret society in Orlais. A secret society of Earthlings who woke up in this strange land, one with a simple list of objectives: find the others, stay alive, stay out of sight, and find a way home.
So when the society receives news that another Earthling is ‘trapped’ inside the newly formed Inquisition, they are quick to send aid. Mara must now infiltrate Skyhold and remain under the guise of a bright scholar until she can rescue whoever the news alluded to. But things get difficult when a wolf catches her scent and she becomes more entangled in a world she swore she'd leave one day.

In the infancy of the spider-society, you and Miguel used to have a thought experiment: “At what point would you say that the society succeeded in saving a universe?”
“No more villains, no more alchemax.” You said, “The variant would have no reason to continue being spiderman. Petty crime would only be what’s left, and I don’t think that’d keep someone as spiderman for too long.”
“What happens next, then?” Miguel mumbled, eyes trained on one of his many monitors, desperate for a distraction.
“Maybe their universe just disengages from the spider-multiverse.”
“And the person?”
“If they’re here during that time,” you paused, thumbing the documents before you of the new recruits. “Perhaps they just begin to disappear, fade back into their universe instead of glitching out.”
Miguel is busy tracking down Miles Morales. You are busy with the corporate side of the spider-society. You hear news the Alchemax in your universe has gone bankrupt. You both don’t realize you were right all those years ago. -
