Vi paced the length of the room with her chin pinched firmly between her fingers. She had been tracing a wide oval on the floor, her boots clanking heavily with every step. They had been over the plan several times already, Viktor lamented soundlessly, but he understood her nerves. Ekko, who was busy spinning himself in one of Viktor’s office chairs, slowed to a stop with an exaggerated groan, dragging the toe of his shoes along Viktor’s floor. “Vi, how many more times are you gonna make us—”
“Until it’s perfect, Ekko.” Vi interrupted brusquely. “Everyone needs to be on the same page about what they’re doing, where they’re supposed to be, and what we’re after. We’re not gonna get another shot at this for months if we fail.”

OR: The kids from Zaun have a plan—find whatever Jayce Talis has been working on and steal it. The Progress Day Gala is the perfect opportunity to do so. The only issue? Viktor has to attend to "present" his research to Heimerdinger. He should be in and out quickly—just long enough to get Vi into place and dip. If all goes smoothly, he'll never have to interact with Jayce Talis at all. Simple, right?

"Noted," Jayce smiles. He steps closer. "But I won't be handling you. I'll be guiding you. There's a difference, V."
Jayce extends a hand: palm open, waiting. Viktor stares at it for a beat too long. Foolish. Frivolous. Pointless. But then Jayce's fingers twitch—just barely, almost imperceptibly—and Viktor feels something in his chest loosen.
He takes it.

The marble figure is perfect. Too perfect. Snow-white ivory masks the blemished skin – the sunken, uneven eyes displaced by faultless hollow circles, the tired bones and slanted posture replaced by a towering physique.
It is so perfect it becomes imperfect. That is not his Viktor. His Viktor is so much more beautiful. His Viktor is real.
And a part of him cracks – the thought that Viktor, Viktor, is trying so hard. Trying so hard to create something, love something, other than himself.
OR
Viktor is a renowned sculptor, obsessed with creating some perfect version of himself. Jayce wants nothing more than to cherish the real him as one breathes air.
