“That's weird,” Ena shot back. She clicked on another tag, another fanart, another account. “And I don't blush around you that often or much!” She said, after clicking on a tweet containing a piece depicting her as red as a tomato, with Mizuki by her side, smiling and probably saying something stupid. She could tell, despite there being no text in the drawing.

Except apparently, everyone hates her and wants her dead, because the message on the stupid touchscreen reads, "No internet connection. Please connect to a network and try again later," and that's stupid as hell.]

She wasn't sure when “I want to make her my girlfriend” became a recurring thought in her mind. All Ena knew was that once it did — or at least once she noticed it did— it became all she could think about. Either in Mizuki's presence, when she would look at her face and immediately get swept over by a surge of emotions like she'd never experienced before, or in her absence, when every single thing that could be even tangentially linked to Mizuki would remind Ena of her.
Ena would catch herself doodling little pink idiots at the corner of her sketchbooks, turning red as a lobster whenever Futaba looked over and asked who that was. One time, she even almost submitted an assignment with a smug graffiti-drawn Mizuki peering over the paper. Her heart raced as she grabbed the drawing back halfway through turning it over to Yukihira, her thumb covering the exact spot where the doodle was located. Ena cussed herself out for that one.
Or: the time Ena asked Mizuki out, the time they had their first kiss, and the time Ena realized that she wanted to marry her.

She asked as she looked up at the inventor. His face was pale, concern written accross his face. "I... I don't know..." He said breathlessly. Mizuki felt her form contracting, her body pushing in on itself, as if she were in far too small a room. Her face felt weird. Everything felt weird. Her vision started to blur around the edges as she fell forwards.

And suddenly Mizuki falters—here comes the pattern again. Elation and excitement is quickly replaced with a sense of overwhelming dread at the entire prospect of it all. Rumors spread quickly here, they're more than familiar, who’s to say none of it will reach Ena’s ears?

Terrified thoughts roaring in her mind, she opened the app, frantically wishing that her internet would load faster, fuck!
And then… it loaded… and Ena sat there, aghast.
