Scott had been expecting it, for the most part. The Ocean Queen and her associated heroic screw-ups had shown up right when Scott was about to hand over the small silver amulet he’d relieved the old guy of.
The Ocean Queen shouted something about how “justice will always prevail” and how they would “always fight for what’s right”, her usual mumbo jumbo, really. It bored Scott to death. He was just about to rethink his no-kill mentality, when suddenly something changed.
Someone else was there. Someone new.
