Not only that, but now he was in the Olympic village, surrounded by the best athletes from all over the world. It was an understatement to say that he was very much overwhelmed. There was something intimidating about being in the mix. Not only that, but some were just downright frightening.
Nick was a large guy, a wall of muscle, if you will. Growing up, he was always the largest of his friends and it was even more noticeable once he started playing rugby. Despite that, he was still intimidated by a number of people in the village. Specifically, two members of the USA exy team.
Andrew Minyard and Neil Josten were something of an anomaly to Nick, and really, the rest of the public. The only information people knew for sure about them was that they attended the Palmetto University where they played for the Palmetto State Foxes exy team; where one went, other followed; Neil Josten was the son of a notorious mobster known as the Butcher, and Andrew Minyard had once nearly killed four men in a fight in the midst of a hate crime against Andrew’s cousin.
AKA The one where Nick and Charlie meet Andrew and Neil at the Olympics.

Summary
The first time it happens is three weeks after he’s moved in. It’s been a long fucking day, believe him. He’s in such a foul mood when he finally returns to his flat that even Nellie’s presence isn’t helping. In fact, she’s moping in the corner because he can swear she can read his emotions.
That’s when it begins. Drumming. Banging. Utter clatter from one of the lower flats.
Fucking fantastic. This is exactly what he needs to end his day. He has half a mind to go downstairs, pound on the door to the point that he may get a noise complaint, and absolutely get into it with whoever it is.
AKA The one where Nick is attempting to woo his downstairs neighbour, Charlie, who plays his drums loudly enough for Nick to hear every night.

Summary
One second Nick is talking about something or other, a big grin on his face and his eyes directly meeting Charlie’s; the next he’s leaning in and slowly slotting their mouths together. It starts off slow and tender, with Nick gripping his waist with a delicious amount of pressure. Before either know it, it turns downright sloppy. Open mouths and tongues dancing together, it’s absolutely indecent, especially for a public place.
AKA The one where Charlie and Nick sleep together and Charlie thinks Nick has a boyfriend when he really doesn't.

Summary
Now, he’s standing off to the side, looking for his boyfriend.
He had lost Nick about half an hour ago when the taller said he would get drink refills for the two of them, but it shouldn’t be taking this long. Not to say Charlie isn’t fine on his own. He is, and he’s spent loads of time making sure it was like that. However, he would still like to know where his boyfriend disappeared to.

Summary
So, here’s the thing: Nick Nelson has been in love with Charlie Spring since he was 16 years old. He doesn’t quite know which moment in particular was the catalyst. Maybe it was the first time they spent time together outside of school. The comfort of the Nelson household and the subsequent snow day that followed. Charlie looking like an angel in Nick’s jumper. Running outside and playing in the snow with him and Nellie. Maybe it was when they were at Harry Greene’s 16th birthday party, chasing each other through the corridors of the massive hotel, making quips at one another. Maybe it was when Charlie had joined the rugby team at Nick’s request (more like a plea) despite the cost to himself, having to spend time with all of the boys who had given him a hard time the year prior when he had been outed.
AKA The one where Nick is on the bass, Charlie is on drums, and Nick sings a song to let Charlie know exactly how he feels.

Andrew mulls this over in his head. He thinks of Neil’s lingering gazes, of the recent reappearance of that warm blush on the tops of his cheeks. He considers, also, the inherent vulnerability of allowing oneself to be desired, and the shamelessness of desiring another. It’d make sense that Neil, both rabbit and fox, immense in his attempts to make himself minuscule, would be wary of something so terrifying.
Alternatively: On Neil Josten’s apprehension regarding his own attraction to Andrew Minyard, told by Andrew’s increasingly flustered and consistently perplexed point of view.
