The knock at his prison door came early. Felix rolled onto his back and stared at the ceiling, wishing it would go away. It was enough that the Kingdom had fallen. It was enough that he, his name, his line, were nothing in this new world. It was enough to be held captive.
At the battle at Gronder Field, Felix is taken prisoner by Claude's army. Byleth will do anything to protect him, desperate to hold on to any small piece of the world he knew before he woke up to a war.

After the war, Felix picks up his blade and chases the next battle, never saying a word to his comrades and friends. When the newly-crowned King Byleth eventually learns of this, he becomes distressed at the news. He searches for Felix to no avail. In time, Felix finds out the king came up with the most extreme way of reuniting them: by placing a bounty on his head.

Byleth blinks.
“You want to stay in the Monastery?” Felix asks.
“No,”
Felix sighs, “Get a move on then.”
Then it clicks; Felix is inviting Byleth to Fraldarius with him. Byleth has somewhere to go.
“Oh,” Byleth stands up quickly, “Just a minute.” And he races to collect his bag from his room.
