    Summary

Kaito hates Kokichi… but he hates the killing game even more. In the cold, cavernous Exisal hangar, Kaito stares into the poison-fevered eyes of the Ultimate Supreme Leader and makes a decision: the killing game is over. He will not kill Kokichi. He will not drop the press and entomb this child inside the killing game he claims to despise. So, Kaito comes up with a plan to save Kokichi’s life, but to pull it off, the two of them will have to work together inside the Exisal, trick Monokuma into reaching a false verdict, and end the class trial before Kokichi succumbs to the Strike-9 poison.
    ---
In other words, Kaito makes a choice that rewrites chapter 5, and in doing so, forces a certain someone to rewrite chapter 6...

    Summary

Even with his stores of near-infinite knowledge, D3rlord3 was not prepared for the sight that awaited him when he answered his front door:

On his doorstep stood a scrappy-looking young man in a Hawaiian shirt, cargo shorts, and a beaming smile. In his hand was D3rlord3’s hastily-written book.

The man, still smiling, tilted his head and asked, “Did you write this?”

    Bookmarker's Notes

    I love this.

Genuinely one of the most beautiful fics I've ever laid my eyes upon. It had me giggling, saying "gay" and "just kiss each other already" every 26 seconds, and smiling just as much as Avery did in the story. There are moments of vulnerability and where D3rlord3's chest starts to swell with an emotion he can't describe (even though he has all the language and words to find it and it's called LOVE), and moments where when Avery smiles, it honestly does a lot. When Avery smiled, I SMILED. What's next? When Avery keeps going forward at the crossroads, I follow suit?

But in all seriousness, I love romance that is subtle and doesn't say it outright. Love simmers like a pot of marinara sauce on low heat and boils and bubbles when it's just right, and their relationship reflects that. It's supposed to be slow, (although how I boil my marinara says otherwise or marinara just boils easily and my representation of what love is sucks) and imperfect at times when you get the measurements of the spices wrong, leaving a tingly aftertaste. You really nailed their dynamic, banter, the little things and all the details, and the memories of Avery that D3rlord3 brings up time to time, it's very in character even though it's kind of canon-divergent. I hope I'm using that term correctly, I'm sorta newgen.

This fan fiction will and has changed my life.
So dear author, I'd like to say that I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. THANK YOU. GENUINELY. If you couldn't tell, I love implicit love, which is why I love Slimeknight, and which is why I just ADORE this fanfic.

Zanka’s breaths are short and wet– he’s not long for this world. Without his mask and with that gaping wound in his chest, anyone can see that he’s not going to survive more than another minute or so. Jabber sits beside him, giddy with anticipation as he waits for Zanka's inevitable death.

Jabber gets trapped in a time loop where Zanka dies, over and over. It doesn't bother him- he loves the look on Zanka's face as the light fades from his eyes- until he comes to a few realisations about himself, and then it really, really does.

Time travel? Okay, say no more! I love this fic with all my heart just because I love the time travel trope to save the other person, even if in this situation it wasn't intended to be. I love Janka.
