"Doc," he gasped out, squirming when Ratio's hands pinched at his nipple, his hand covering almost the entire expanse of his chest. "Ratio, slow down, I can't–"

"I love you," Ratio said quietly; a confession, a promise, an oath. "You deserve all this, and more."
That was all it took to push Aventurine over the edge, crying out Ratio's name, shuddering through his release, tears spilling as he rode out his orgasm, as Ratio held him through it, peppering kisses along his face, kissing away his tears.

“I've never loved anyone else after you broke up with me!” Aventurine turned around to face him, his eyes — usually so radiant and shining under the spotlights — flashed with hurt.
“Did you even think about how I felt, Veritas? Do you have any idea how much fucking pain I was in–” Aventurine choked on his own words, his thin frame shaking — from the cold, or from the strength of his sobs, Ratio could not tell — his tears mixing with the rain as they kissed their way down his cheek, the same way blood kissed skin as it dripped in rivulets, the same way Ratio had once kissed him.
“It hurt,” Aventurine said, barely louder than a whisper. “It hurt so much I thought about killing myself, I thought about downing an entire bottle of pills, having them find me on the floor of my apartment, because I didn’t want to live in a world without you!”

Ratio hummed, continuing to mix what looked like — as Aventurine peered over his shoulder, standing on his tiptoes — frosting.

Aventurine tasted the frosting, wrinkling his nose a little at the amount of sugar inside.
