Giyuu finds himself conflicted in this very moment, wondering what in the timeline is at stake should he strike, because the annals of history are so easily altered that Sabito is standing next to him today (his own sword unsheathed and one of his hands tugging at Giyuu’s arms so hard his fingernails are digging divots into his skin.)
He worries at his bottom lip, and registers the movement of the Lower Moon, who rudely has not waited for him to finish his rumination and was unleashing a demon blood art, whose exact skillset he does not remember but reacts to on instinct.
Giyuu is struck by immense Deja Vu as he decapitates the demon once more.Tomioka Giyuu has no intention of becoming the Water Hashira again in this bright new world where Sabito is alive.
Sabito takes in a deep breath. “WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS THAT?!?!”
But really, old habits don't seem to die (even when he already did).
And why does the Upper Third remember his name in a world years before Giyuu('s reckless ward Tanjiro) ever gives it to him?Series

He stutters, surprised. There is someone gripping his shoulder, dragging on his movement. Whipping around, he raises his sword – a challenge to whichever insolent prick thought they could interrupt his training – before he stumbles, collecting himself.
“Just what do you think you’re doing?In the aftermath of the Swordsmith Village Arc, Tokitou recovers at the Butterfly Mansion. He loathes his weakness, and feels that old fury build up inside him once more, leading to a vicious bout of training on a starless night. But if there's one thing Tanjirou can't stand, it's seeing someone he cares about hurt.
In other words: The author loses their goddamn mind over two fictional characters as they finally figure out the depth of their feelings for each other.
There are some mentions of vomiting blood, but they're a bit vague. Still, read at your own risk. Hopefully it's not too gross

Sanemi and Giyuu are on a mission together when a chance encounter with an unfortunate blood art renders the water hashira unconscious, forced to relive his worst memories. While he grapples with his feelings about the past, Sanemi has to figure out how to take care of the other hashira in the freezing weather while also dealing with his own pride and the genuine worry conflicting in his mind- not to mention the growing crush he's been wrestling with for a few months now. Perhaps this experience could make their relationship a bit less hostile.
Or: Enmu could have done so much more with his blood art and I'm taking advantage of that fact to present you with some nice SaneGiyuu angst.
AN: Alas, I wrote this decades ago in my youth and have yet to finish it / am no longer interested in this story so unfortunately it's not done. Just a warning before u read it, I'm terribly sorry I blame my adhd

"How's he doing today?" He asked. Again, she grunted, and climbed up to sit on Tanjiro's cot.
It was odd, perhaps just a result of the mutual understanding that comes with silence, but it seemed the longer he spent with Nezuko, the less of an enigma she'd become. Her hand was on Tanjiro's chest but her eyes were on him, shining. It was as if he could read her mind.
I miss him.
Giyuu nodded slowly. He knew the feeling well: missing a brother. All the more reason to cling to the ragged breaths that gasped in and out of Tanjiro's lungs.
During Tanjiro's two-month coma after fighting Upper Six at Yoshiwara, Nezuko is lonely. Giyuu, beside himself with worry, finds himself an unexpected ally in the young demon. Throughout Tanjiro's recovery, Giyuu and Nezuko bond over loneliness, their mutual love of their brother, and hydrangeas.

But like many things in her newly human life, she can’t really untangle how she’s meeting a man for the first time when he’s already saved her multiple times. And he’s just one of the scraps of memory that she is trying to weave together to make back up a life that is a coherent whole.

Giyuu hummed before speaking up, fortunately changing the subject.
“You’re going to have another scar,” he commented quietly, his eyes flicking from Sanemi’s jawline to the cloth that was now rapidly turning from white to red.
Sanemi smirked. “I thought you liked my scars.”
Giyuu looked up at him, his expression unchanged. “I do. I find them quite…cute,” he finished eventually.
Sanemi scowled. “Cute? You find my scars cute?”
