    Summary

50 bce. Cassius, recently returned from Syria, sets his mind to form his own triumvirate, putting Pompey and Cato in one bed. Metaphorically of course; physically one of them is on the floor.

Dedicated with love and gratitude to qui_nomin, whose insight into Pompey made this text possible.

    Summary

Edward swallows, parts his cracked lips. “Henry,” he says, then pauses. His fingers trace the chain, the still-healing puncture wound where Henry had pressed the needle through his bottom lip. It aches.

“Henry,” he tries again, firmer this time. “Henry Le Vesconte, cause of death—”

“Starvation,” says the voice, Henry’s voice. Edward sucks in a breath, holds it until his chest aches.

Edward Little is saved from the shale. Henry Le Vesconte, presumed dead, haunts him.

    Summary

Henry’s faltering body makes the cane a necessity; in George’s hands, it becomes an instrument of desire.

“Come, George, give it back,” Henry exhales, the words edged with irritation, though weariness dulls the sharpness.
    George only shrugs, unshaken.
    “I thought you hated it.”
“It is not—pray, you know what I mean. However fine it may be, it makes me appear an invalid,” Henry says, pressing his lips together. He does not like to speak of it, yet the hurt slips free. This should be the moment George kisses him, tells him he is handsome still, cane or no cane. Instead, George only scoffs, twisting the cane litghtly, as some kind of weapon.
“Sit down,” he says, nodding to the chair in the corridor behind Henry. “You must be weary.”

    Summary

A day in the life of Ned Little and Georgie Hodgson, where they discover new ways to cherish themselves and each other—body and soul.
Meet Edward. He’s nothing special. At least, that’s what he believes—hardly worth talking about.

So instead let’s meet Edward’s girlfriend, Georgie. She’s gorgeous. Or, as she likes to put it, georgious. Golden hair cut into the pixie style of the ’60s actresses she adores, wide sapphire eyes, a ever-smiling face like a sunny day. All atop the tall, lithe body of a runway model. You can’t miss the moment she enters a room, standing a head above the crowd, her stance as confident as her takes on the French New Wave.

Sometimes Edward thinks her only flaw is poor judgment—or maybe poor eyesight—because he can’t fathom why she’d choose to be with him of all people. At times he’s convinced his sole purpose is to persuade Georgie she could do better. Fortunately for him, Georgie tends to have her own opinions on such matters.
