This story will end.
Hank Anderson is not aware of this. He's been alive for eight hundred years, rendered incapable of dying as punishment for a transgression he does not remember committing, and he's long since given up hope of having any kind of ending.
Reaper 800 does not remember what mortal sin he committed. None of the Grim Reapers do. He does not remember being Connor, and he does not remember how he is connected to Hank's own forgotten past. He does not think about endings much at all.
But this story will end, and that starts with them finding each other.

Summary
Connor does wonder if Hank knows the night he killed him was also the first night he really felt alive, even if he did everything he could to hide it, to answer Hank’s questions the way he knew he should. He wonders if Hank knows that it wasn’t just the dying that hurt, but that Hank only did it because he was so sure Connor was just a machine. For all their differences, Connor knows Hank wouldn’t kill someone.
He just didn’t think Connor was someone.

In November 2038, after they went to Eden Club, Hank shot Connor in Riverside Park. Connor has never forgiven him for it.
But against the backdrop of their own regrets and an android murder case that's larger and more complicated than it first seems, Hank and Connor find each other again when Connor is assigned to the DPD by a government workplace placement program for androids.

Dreams were like butterflies; fragile and creatures with wings. Sometimes they flew away, sometimes they were caught, sometimes they were crushed under the boot of another, sometimes they were crushed under your own. Midoriya Izuku had a single butterfly he'd chased his entire life. That butterfly represented being a hero. It represented his hopes and dreams and wishes. And it was crushed.
All Might, the Symbol of Peace. The one who'd crushed Izuku's dreams himself.
Quirkelss was not a butterfly, but a wolf. An obsessive hunter stalking him wherever he went. Killing his butterflies one by one.
Maybe being a hero was overrated anyway.
Maybe being the one who started the fires was better than being the one to put them out.
Maybe it's time Izuku tried starting some fires of his own.(Also posted on Wattpad)

Mike socks him in the jaw and reflexively, Harvey’s fist flies out, splitting Mike’s lip. “Fuck! Sorry.”

“Get your fucking hands up, Harvey!”
He stares. “What the hell is wrong with you?”
“Wrong with me? You’re the one who doesn’t give a shit until someone’s bleeding.”
“What are you talking about?”
Mike snaps. “Why would you give me a job, and a home, and a family, and then fucking decide you don’t care about me?”
“Don’t care about you?” If Mike were wise he’d heed the warning in the quiet snarl of Harvey’s voice, but there’s a giant gap between intelligence and wisdom, and he hasn’t made that leap yet. “I risked everything for you!”
“So you could avoid me?”
“I’m not avoiding you!”
“Is there a synonym you’d prefer? ‘Cause you sure don’t seem to want anything to do with me!”
They’re close enough that Mike can see the twitch of Harvey’s jaw, even in the low light. “You don’t know shit about what I want,” he whispers.
“Oh yeah? Why don’t you enlighten me.”

As he approached Harvey’s office, he heard some noises coming from it. He stopped and hid behind the last piece of wall, peeking with only one eye through the glass door.
His heart stopped stammering with irrational fear when he realized it was only Harvey.
But he was alone, sitting in the dark, making noises.
Was he- was he hurt?
Mike moved a little, leaving the wall behind and stopping behind the glass door, making it perfectly plausible for Harvey to just lift his head and see him. But apparently, he was too concentrated. Mike’s throat dried when he realized that Harvey’s hand was moving under the desk, in rapid moves. Two plus two.

Aw, man, he went to the zoo with Suguru, once in first year. They were supposed to be looking for a curse, but instead they took advantage of the completely empty zoo to wander around the enclosures, looking at the animals. It had been the first time he’d seen Suguru laugh properly - a real laugh, his cheeks going red and tears in his eyes. It was the time they still argued more often than not, the fact that a stupid pun he’d made about bears had broken through Suguru’s walls like that had made Satoru feel incredibly pleased with himself. And, well. He’d found out he liked the sound of Suguru’s laugh.
He shakes himself back to reality. “Megumi, what do you think? Does the zoo sound good?”
Megumi shrugs. “Yeah, ‘s fine.” He says it nonchalantly, but he’s still just a kid, and his eyes are filled with excitement.
Oh, well. He can endure some depressing memories of Suguru for the sake of these kids.
