Behind him, Hannibal’s breathing is barely audible. Always so damn composed. Or perhaps Hannibal is really asleep? Perhaps the touch is only accidental? It’s the soft pad of a thumb on the back of his neck and the tips of loosely curled fingers stirring his curls more than resting against his skin.
Shouldn’t he hate it? Or at the very least, fear it? Deep down he feels something else entirely. Relief of some undefined kind that he fiercely pushes away and refuses to acknowledge. It’s too embarrassing. He can’t be that person. Can’t be that weak.

Dazai holds the phone tight as it rings. He almost thinks he won't answer. He's still angry at Dazai, so why would he? But then--
"What do you want, mackerel?"
Dazai let's out a shaky, relieved breath, pulling his knees closer to his chest.
"Hey," he whispers back. He hears shuffling on the other line and smiles to himself pressing his face to his knees.
"Where are you?"
"In front of your apartment."
"I'm on my way. Don't fucking move."

“What now, Dazai-kun?”
Dazai winced at how irritable Mori was. He wasn’t making this situation any better, in fact, he was probably making it worse for both of them. Still. Chuuya wouldn’t be able to handle this. This was crossing miles past Chuuya’s usual threshold of mental strength. Something in him would shatter beyond repair.
“This is my fault,” Dazai insisted. “I should be the one to receive the punishment.”
“Oh, you are receiving punishment, Dazai-kun. Don’t you worry about that.”
OR
Dazai and Chuuya make a horrible mistake on a mission, and for the first time, it's Chuuya who has to take the punishment.
