I BOOKMARKED THIS YEARS AGO AND I KEEP COMING BACK TO IT IT'S LIKE ACTUAL CRACK TO ME.
Like you don't understand just how comforting this fic was to me when i was like,,,, god how old was I when I first read this? I know it was during a summer but I can't remember which right now.
But this fic was everything I wanted in my life. Like a nice summer with a friend and maybe falling in love with someone. Maybe not the countryside, I've seen plenty of those, but something to capture that feeling of freedom. Like. Like Like. I don't know how to describe it. It just feels like something you could only experience when you're a teenager and I'm still technically a teen but not in the same way that characters are.
UH. ANYWAY. This entire fic bleeds Studio Ghibli and not in the tiktok way where it's just a cutesy aesthetic but in the way where you can feel the nature around the characters and see them eventually grow together as they start to grow closer. And also see how they could continue growing years down the line.
Your writing is like a breath of fresh air and that's very commendable.
I just love this fic so much :,D!!!

But Ei is a coward when it comes to things like this.
So Yae remains there, hand still outstretched for the ghost of someone who had just left and been long gone all at the same time.
Stay. She had wanted to say.
Do not go.
Stay.
But Ei had fled back to the Tenshukaku, back to the Plane of Euthymia, back to the very place that Yae could never go.
Do not go where I cannot follow.
