Summary
A soft sigh escapes her as she lifts a hand, the guqin fading into wisps of light, leaving not a trace behind. The grin on Hsin’s face grows, ever so smug, as she circles Qingxiao with nimble steps, until Qingxiao can see all of her, the thin rays of light that slip through the partition illuminating Hsin’s features.
“You’ve always been quite the cunning one.”
Hsin merely smiles in response, without any shame, pressing the softest of kisses to Qingxiao’s temple, one hand brushing strands of pale blue hair from her face, as though in silent invitation. “And you’ve never once had an issue with it.”
---------
On a certain night, Hsin seeks out Qingxiao's company.

Summary
Sigrika's fingers moved gently through the fur, and Denia's throat tightened.
"Nia?" Sigrika asked.
Denia closed her eyes briefly. "Do you prefer it?"The purring stopped.
"Prefer what?"
"My tail."
The small area of her bed somehow seemed even smaller.
She refused to turn and face her. Her voice came out quiet, and stripped of every joke and teasing comment she might have used if this mattered a little less.
"Over me."

Summary
The heavy expectations of being a Solsworn are a constant yoke on Sigrika’s back, but luckily she has two best friends to guide her through it: Nivora, a fellow Roya, shy and quiet; Denia, an easily unamused upperclassman, gentler than her frowns suggest.
Sigrika is hopelessly in love with the latter. Even though she shouldn't be.
—
*Though this is essentially Voidborne Heart from Sigrika’s POV, it’s less an entire POV rewrite and more of a sibling(?) piece. They mirror each other, fill in gaps the other leaves out. There are more new scenes than old ones, although the familiar ones are more fleshed out. Though not entirely necessary, reading Voidborne first is recommended, as this was written assuming you know what happens in the other.

“Huh, is there something wrong with my ears?”
“Yeah, they’re just…big. Too distracting.”
“Oh yep! That’s common amongst Roya. My father always says, ‘The bigger the ears, the better to hear Soliskin's chuus with!’ Helps with shepherding, too. I like your ears more, though! Your ears are…”
“Small. Yeah, I know.”
“-cute!”
“What?”
