“Ladder 118, we are rerouting you to provide medical assistance and support with engine 136 to ladder 136. Please approach the area with extreme caution and stay behind the police barricade until cleared by the incident commander. A bomb was placed under ladder 136. Unknown injuries at this time. Will update as soon as we learn more.”
“Copy that dispatch. Ladder 118 responding.”
Eddie barely heard the rest of what dispatch and Bobby were saying. As soon as he heard ladder 136, his vision was tunneling and all he could hear was ringing in his ears.
Buck alternated between ladder and engine.
He didn’t even know which one he was on today.
He prays that today Buck was riding engine.
He had to be riding engine today.

"The only good thing about the first slide is that it told her that the taller RA was Buck while the other man was named Eddie.
The pictures, however, gave her pause. It showed the two RAs standing in water with a beautiful waterfall in the background. That was the photo on the left and was normal enough. As normal as two dudes standing in knee deep water with their arms around the other could be. It was the second picture on the right that made her begin to suspect that there was something more between the two RAs. Buck was still standing in the water but this time he was holding Eddie in a bridal carry. On surface level it doesn’t seem that deep but it’s the way Buck is looking at Eddie in the photo that makes her brain kick into drive to overanalyze the photo. She swears that his eyes could only be described as “heart eyes” with how intently he was looking at the other man. Eddie was no better. His arms may have been crossed and he looked somewhat annoyed, but you could clearly see the beginnings of a smile on his face."
Or five times where Buck and Eddie's new residents think they notice something about their relationship and the one time where they actually learned just how right (or wrong) they were.

“Jay, you know I’m –” Will tried to say before Jay interrupted him.
“Is Connor working right now?” Jay asked urgently. Will could hear police sirens in the background, and he could feel his mind starting to shut down. Why would Jay be asking if Connor was working while he could clearly hear police sirens in background?
“Dammit Will, I need you tell me now if Connor is working today!”
“Yes,” he manages to stutter out. “Him and Claire are there meeting with one of their suppliers. Jay, what is going on?”
Jay started cursing before he answered Will’s question. “Intelligence is responding to a city-wide report of a hostage situation at Dolan Rhodes. There has been reports of gun fire with many injuries and possibly a few casualties, but I know nothing more than that. Hailey and I are about to roll up on the scene, but I had to know if Connor was there.”

"I would have expected to see you in the cockpit," Payback started, as Jake tried to keep his attention on the radio chatter. Harvard, Yale, and Fritz were up there.
He was not going to take the bait. He was not going to give them that satisfaction.
"Well, maybe the brass finally share our conclusions. That you cannot be trusted up there," Phoenix went on, just as coldly as Payback.
"You finally screwed up enough to be grounded?" Fanboy asked. "Or is it because of Bee's death?"
At the mention of his wingman's callsign, his grip tightened around the pen and clipboard he had in hand. He had heard it all before, the gossip, the accusations, but never from people he had once considered his family.
"I received orders," he answered, stoically, eyes still glued on the radio. "I'm here to teach, to lead you to success. That's it."
"Bagman, the only place you'll lead anyone is an early grave," Rooster stepped in, anger clear as day in his voice.
🛩️ Permanently grounded and wingless, Hangman must team up with Maverick to prepare the Dagger Squad for the suicide mission. Will they be able to set aside their feelings or crash and burn before they even fly that mission?
