Heart rabbiting, Minho peels his hoodie away from his chest and peers down, because surely he forgot to take the alpha’s shirt off this morning, and that’s what he’s smelling—but he has no such luck.

Summary
Minho ignores the sound of his heart sinking down like the wreckage of an abandoned ship, because the key word here is that it’s abandoned; Minho’s heart beating all loud in the vacuum space of his chest is old news, nobody is close enough to hear it, not even Minho anymore. So he chooses to focus on what’s important: helping Jisung.
"So, What are you gonna do about it?"
“I was thinking maybe I could trick my brain by going on something like a date before hooking up with Doyun hyung. If I can fulfill my emotional needs, maybe it’ll be easier to fulfill my sexual ones. So—” Jisung stops, straightens up and clears his throat, speaks all theatrically.
“Minho hyung, will you go out on a date with me?”

Would Minho have sex with him? Would he want to? The thought turns Jisung’s stomach. He doesn’t want Minho to get the wrong idea about why he comes here, why he’s meeting up with him.
“I’m straight,” he blurts, without prompting, heartbeat heavy in his fingers, his cheeks, behind his eyes.
Minho twists around so that the chains of his swing are crossed, staring Jisung dead on with his eyebrows raised. “Um. Okay? I’m not trying to sleep with you.”
Shame burns deep in Jisung’s insides, through the cavity of his chest, between his bones. “I–I know,” he stutters. “I’m–” swallowing back bile, something sharp. “Sorry, I don’t know why I said that.”

“You're new,” Jisung proclaims.
Minho snorts. “Am I?”
“Well, I've never seen you here before.”
“Because you know all of their wedding guests?”
Jisung has to laugh. “I know most of Hyunjin’s side,” he says.
“Well obviously I’m a friend of Seungmin’s.”
Jisung pauses to stare, eyes narrowing with curiosity. “Yeah,” he plays along. “But you’re new.”
Minho chuckles. “You keep saying that. What does that mean?”
“I mean that you’re new. Here. Today. New. I’ve experienced this wedding over thirty times now and—” his breath hitches because he really just said that out loud, but there’s an immediate flicker in Minho’s eyes that has him exhaling with relief.
“Oh. Well.”
alternatively: In which Jisung gets stuck repeating the day when his best friend gets married, only to meet a brand new friendly face a month into the grueling experience.
