His phone buzzes again, and Lan Zhan picks it up this time. To his surprise, it's a message from the Blood Bank.
The Blood Bank was a way for him to make money faster, beyond his usual teaching job, to help his mother. He tried not to think too much about the fact that there were random faceless vampires feasting on his blood.
Frowning to himself, Lan Zhan clicks the message.
"You have been selected as a special provider for a very prestigious client! The Yiling Laozu has chosen you to be a part of his regular collaborators!"
Lan Zhan raises an eyebrow when he sees the name.
Very few vampires are known amongst humans, because they keep well hidden, but Yiling Laozu is one of the most well-known ones.

The man is gorgeous. There’s no other word for it. His face looks like it was perfectly sculpted by a talented artist, not to mention the definition of his body. The leggings he wears show the leg muscles of someone who has probably been doing some form of acrobatics ever since they were a kid, and his arms are huge under his t-shirt. Huge. He’s just as tall as Wei Ying is, but his fit body makes him look shorter, somehow. Wei Ying swallows again, wondering if he has ever seen anyone who looks more like the ideal of beauty in his life.
And then the man starts talking.

He pulls back quickly, not freaking out, because it’s fine. He touched Lan Zhan’s cheek with his nose, and Lan Zhan smells really fucking good, and they’re lying down together on a very soft bed because Lan Zhan is too drunk to let go of him, and Lan Zhan is gay but Wei Ying isn’t, and it’s fine.
Wei Ying swallows hard and closes his eyes again.

Wei Ying helps Lan Zhan out of an uncomfortable situation, and they grow close right away, becoming instant friends. To Lan Zhan, they become instant something else. With time, they only get closer and closer, and Wei Ying is forced to deal with his own feelings about Lan Zhan, and his perception of his own sexuality.
