Summary
The train around us was thundering loudly, and the compartments were buzzing with the impatience of many a traveller, longing to be reunited with family for the holiday season. But just looking outside and taking in the new view was a much-needed balm on my delicate nerves.
Holmes was humming happily beside me, a merry tune that sounded vaguely festive. His gaze darted over to me occasionally, his lips twitching up into one of his delightful little smiles. I had no way of showing him the sheer depth of my appreciation here, not surrounded by so many onlookers. But I hoped that his extraordinary mind would understand nonetheless when I tried to answer every one of his looks with a smile of my own.

Christmas is fast approaching but Doctor John Watson is not feeling the holiday spirit this year. Maybe a case out in the snowy countryside can draw him out of his melancholy. At the very least he always has the support of his beloved Holmes to safely see him even through these dreary times! -

Summary
The picture that presented itself as he walked into the flat was both better and worse than what he had dreaded. His daughter and his boyfriend were leaning over the messy kitchen table, a bowl of ice, a stack of Petri dishes and a burning Bunsen burner between them. To give Sherlock credit, they were both wearing lab coats and gloves and Rosie had been additionally equipped with safety goggles and even wore her messy blond hair in a neat high ponytail to keep it out of the flames.

Sherlock wants to show Rosie some pretty, green-glowing bacteria under the microscope and decides to make a series of experiments and a basic biology lesson out of it. Nothing too complicated just some absolutely standard microbiological methods that he has done hundreds of times before. There is no way this could fail, right?

Rescued, but imprisoned, Zuko finds himself no further from death on a water tribe ship. Sokka, the chief, would see him bleeding out on the boards of the deck as justice. He's a fire bender, the evil of the war that his father rages through their world. Zuko hasn't been a part of that war. Not for years. Now he's thrust back into it against his will, finding himself fighting on a side he never expected to be a part of. Maybe he'll find a cause worth fighting for; someone worth fighting for.

When he sees "unknown number" on the caller ID, he nearly doesn't pick up. All kinds of misguided people have been calling lately: People who are fans of the Chesapeake Ripper and are still convinced Will is guilty. People who are very much not fans of the Chesapeake Ripper and are still convinced he's guilty. A few lewd phone calls. More than a few.
But because he's too curious (and pathetic) for his own good, Will answers the phone.
At first he's greeted only by static on the other side. He's about to hang up when a woman's voice, delicate with a light drawl, says, "Is this Will Graham?"
He detects instability in this person immediately. What he doesn't detect is malice.
"Who is this?" Will says.
"I…I think I might be your mom?"

Will’s days post-BSHCI contain little more than chronic pain and the ghosts of broken friendships. There's not much to his existence other than caring for his dogs and taking his revenge against Hannibal Lecter.
But when Will’s estranged mother reaches out to him one night, his perspective starts to shift. And so do his feelings for Hannibal.
