Summary
Ilya appears on Shane Hollander's doorstep after reading the author's article on Anna Anderson, a woman claiming to be the slain Grand Duchess Anastasia Romanov, Ilya's sister, and tells Hollander his life story. His claim to be a bastard Romanov son is extraordinary, but if he were making his story up, wouldn't he give his it a better ending?
But this isn't the end of Ilya's story. Hollander is certain of it. He persuades the man to allow him to assist him in bettering his life and circumstances in exchange for the right to tell his story, someday, in novel form. Ilya agrees, but only if nothing is said of his past life, meaning Hollander can't use any of the story the man has already told.
Ilya Romanov's story is over. With Hollander's help, Ilya Rozanov's is just beginning.
Set primarily in 1920's Jazz Age London.

Summary
Shane Hollander meets Ilya Rozanov on his twenty-fourth birthday at The Ice Palace, the gay club where Ilya works as a bartender.
