All amusement vanished. Yuuji's expression froze. The deep, deep thing he'd buried threatened to heave itself out his lungs.
“You became an alpha because you needed to, didn't you? Because your only family was Wasuke and he didn't have it in him to treat his things nicely. You had to be big and strong.”

She was strong though, she would make it out. He would bet on her every time. And maybe it was for the best, she’d no longer be marked with the title of being his friend.
“Go back inside,” he demanded. There was no kindness in his words.
“Fuck that and fuck this place.” She shook her head, crossing her arms in front of her. The sunset lowered, her purple eyes soaking up the pinks and orange from the sky.
“Kirara, you are too fucking smart and have too much potential. Go back, don’t ruin your life.”
“I’m not doing this without you, Kin. Any of it.”

Sukuna had many names—Accuser, Betrayer, Fallen—but none he wanted him to know.
If Yuuji ever learned what those titles meant, he might recoil, might flinch away as the Host had before.
Temptation could not flourish where fear lingered, and he needed Yuuji to welcome him, not avoid him.
After refusing to bow to the first man like the rest of the angels Sukuna is torn from grace. Furious at being cast out, he takes the form a serpent and hides in the garden. If they won't see the flaws of the Alpha in the garden, then perhaps the fall of the Omega will open their eyes.

“You’re right, I could,” Sukuna answers at last. “But I wanted to know you, Yuuji. I wanted to know what kind of person you are.”
