Summary
A sequel to the 1998 campaign fic in which Donna wore blue jeans and drove Josh out of his mind, because turn and turn about is fair play.
(also because I have long envisioned writing these two getting it on against a hay bale or something equally ridiculous, and this was a golden opportunity)

Summary
On their Hawaii vacation after the election, Josh decides that he absolutely has to tell Donna how he feels. He can't let her leave the islands until she knows. All he has to do is construct a moment, right? Something memorable, something Donna will love and want to tell their kids about one day.
It does not go as planned.

Summary
The first night, they just sleep.
It is simpler than she expected it to be, a clean surrender to the exhaustion clinging to both of them. It wasn’t that Donna had been bracing for awkwardness, not after Josh appeared at CJ’s door with a promise that he didn’t need a month. Not after the way he stared at her, the same way he had since election night, half-awe, half-pants shitting terror and begged her to go to Hawai’i with him. Not after the way Josh had threaded his fingers through hers the entire flight, as if unwilling to let her run away again.

“Next Tuesday all the senior staff are invited to see the New York Ballet while they’re in town,” Donna says.
“…Okay?”
“And you have a plus one. One that includes box seats.”
“So?”
“Take me!”Bookmarked by rdjgc
