Summary
It's been 10 years since the party graduated from Hawkins High. Mike never left Hawkins and, in honour of it being so long, he decided to get everyone together play a game of D&D in the Wheeler's basement, just like when they were kids.
After they finish their campaign and everyone starts to leave and visit their families, Mike is left behind to finish cleaning up and thinks he's alone until he hears his favourite voice from the bottom of the stairs.

this was cute and all, but the thing i love the most about storytelling is the build up, the build up for a couple to finally kiss is one of the buzziest things ever and im aware that a 3000 word fic can’t have that kind of build up and that’s okay, it’s just not a type of fic i’ll be reading anymore, one where they just.. confess to each other out of nowhere, but no shade to the author, the fic was really cute, just not my type of reading

Summary
The last hours of the afternoon had been quiet ones.
Mike paused in his writing to stare at the painting on the wall, his eyes studying every small detail again and again. They weren’t helping him much to find the answer he was looking for though, so he turned his head to look outside at the dark grey clouds, deep in thought. After a while, he sighed deeply and picked up his pen again.

Summary
“You’re back,” Mike states as his wide eyes catch Will’s.
Will just tilts his head at him as he takes his seat. “Yeah, I said I would be.”
“Right, obviously,” Mike mutters before stabbing his chicken sandwich with his toothpick.
“What?” Will asks despite every inkling in his body telling him to drop this conversation and just pick up his burger. “Did you think I was just going to leave?”
“No, I-”
“Because I wouldn’t just…” Will cuts himself off before he can finish and looks down at his plate instead, the unsaid words resting bitter on his tongue. I wouldn’t just leave with no explanation. Not like you did.
----------After everything they've been through, it is Mike who rips off the final band-aid of their friendship. Years pass of Will pretending like he never thinks about Mike at all. Years pass of him forging his own life and finally letting go.
But when a young boy shows up at Will's apartment, it becomes clear that he'll never fully be done with Mike Wheeler.

Summary
“Can I ask you something?”
Will laughs a little, shaking his head with an expression of complete bewilderment. “You already have.”
“Something else.”
Will shrugs. Mike wonders what he’s thinking. “Go for it.”
“It might be weird,” Mike warns in a stage whisper. He isn’t sure what’s weird or not anymore. He has a feeling this question crosses the line, but the feeling isn’t strong enough to stop him from asking. Not with Will standing so close, looking so glowy and perfect.
“Whatever, Mike,” Will laughs. “It can’t be weirder than what’s already happened to-”
“Have you ever thought about us?”In which Mike Wheeler gets drunk, tries to kiss his best friend, and is generally an idiot. What else is new.

Summary
“I can show you the real thing, if you want me to.”
“What?”
“We could practice. I mean, actually kissing. I wouldn’t mind.”Or Will is getting ready for a date and looks defeated, before it even started. Helping him practice might be just the thing to help Mike make sense of his own confusing feelings.
