It’s not a crowded street, but it’s not empty, either. The night is young and not too cold yet, shops and restaurants still open even as barhoppers with extra-pinked cheeks make their way to second or third rounds, passing couples with steaming mugs bundled up for outside seating. This is the more tourist-y part of town, which means less likelihood of being seen by anyone they know, but also — more opportunity for being seen, period. It’s not something he would’ve expected Alex to have picked.
