He could feel himself growing numb, cold creeping through his veins as he sat in the empty house.
The other members of the band had each gone on little trips, celebrations of their relationships, K’Sante and Yone heading up north to a hot spring resort, and Aphelios and Sett traveling south, Sett enthusiastically blabbering about some wrestling exhibit.
Kayn and Ezreal had gone on their trip last week, an adventure into the city to see a few bands, concerts they'd both been looking forward to for months. They'd laughed, they'd cried, they'd taken selfies together, one in particular that Ez stared at now, himself with a soft smile on his face, Kayn kissing his cheek, while the sun set over the river in the background.
“I love you” they'd both said.

Summary
As far as bad ideas go, Ezreal isn’t sure if this is the best bad idea he ever had or the worst.
The idea on its own is not bad, it’s just that Ezreal’s options are quite limited. Currently, he faces two clear options:
(1.) He can go to his ex’s birthday party and be a mature adult that doesn’t mind showing up single.
Or, (2.) He can ask Kayn to pose as his boyfriend for one night.
One of those options is clearly worse than the other, but Ezreal for sure cannot pinpoint which one exactly is the bad one.
