Summary
Six years ago, Agatha Harkness and Rio Vidal were the best surgical team Westview General had ever seen.

“Of course you are.” She tilted her head, observing her attentively. “Tell me, dear. What happened that was so urgent that made you break in in the middle of my night shift?”
Rio took a deep breath. This was the moment she had been waiting for. She had thought about it the whole way — about 15 minutes, which was already a lot — and had organized her arguments, considered the possibilities, and arrived at a conclusion that, in her head, made perfect sense.

“Ethcuse me?” A little fist appeared over the high counter, dropping a couple of wrinkled bills and some coins on the surface.
Rio furrowed her brow, slipping off the stool and glancing over the counter to see a tiny face with big brown eyes and a wide smile, with the two front teeth missing, peering up at her.
“Hello there,” Rio said, tilting her head curiously at him. “What can I do for you, little buddy?”
“I wanna buy thome flowerth for my mama, pleathe,” he lisped, giving her that same charming little grin.
Rio did not consider herself a kid person, per se, but this one was adorable. And so polite! She felt that cuteness aggression thing that people talk about when they see fuzzy little animals.OR
