Xia Fei swears he enters a trance if he thinks too deeply on it, if he lets himself go in the moment. Even though he knows Vein's not actually there, Xia Fei likes to pretend, likes to imagine he's falling right into his "trap." Maybe it's enough to distract from all the pain left behind.

Not that it was a decision really. More like an inevitable outcome of this, of them, the type of relationship between an artist and their muse that usually kept one gripped anyway being fed by something else - a deep-seated hunger that Vein had to know more about Xia Fei, to peel him open for his eyes and his eyes only.
Muses are hard to come by. Something Vein knows well and a point that Xia Fei is not entirely afraid to draw on when trying to convince Vein to let him help with his personal project.
