Shane was never going to forgive himself for leaving, for hearing Ilya sob from the otherside of the door and still walking away. Ilya told him to leave and it broke something in Shane. He stared down at the container of meal prep, eyes wet and his chest caved in, and threw it in the garbage.
This was moment things truly spiraled out of control.

The face he had known since he was eighteen years old. Whether Shane believed it or not, there were few people who could read his face like Ilya Rozanov could.
And he was reading the truth on it now.
‘Fuck. He hurt you?’
