Thank God, Tom thinks, glancing down at himself, that there isn’t any blood this time, and as he finishes the thought he feels his face twist in a wry smile, and he chokes back a laugh that threatens to spill out of him. He’s standing in his office, holding some award he got for something related to ATN awkwardly in his right hand, almost like a club. He doesn’t remember what the award was for, but he does remember dragging Greg into his office for a celebratory drink afterwards.

Summary
“It’s… a lot.” Greg pauses, trying to sound like he’s thinking, but also, maybe, actually thinking. “It’s kind of trying too hard.” He looks at Tom, who doesn’t meet his gaze. Steely eyes are still stuck on the painting. Greg searches for something positive to say, in case Tom needs a stamp of approval. “But I like that it’s also a bit, I guess… violent.” He brings his fist weakly into his hand as he says this, a soft smack echoing around the empty room.
At this, Tom looks over, eyes trained on Greg’s hands. He meets his gaze, flicks up to his gelled hair, trails back down.
“You know, Greg, this piece is called 'The Lovers.' Our esteemed artist would surely weep at your misanthropic interpretation of his virile men.”

Summary
Tom exhales a sharp, relieved breath through his nose, then leans in before he hesitates, lingering inches from Greg’s mouth, eyes almost closed and looking at him under unfairly long lashes. He looks so pretty in this moment, almost virginal under the moonlight, like he’s demurely waiting for permission to kiss.
Greg usually gives in quickly, keen to put his mouth on Tom’s at every possible opportunity, but right now he savours this feeling, even though he isn’t quite sure what the feeling is. He wonders if this is how Tom feels when Greg acquiesces so easily, when he falls to his knees at just one look, when he waits for permission to come…

Tom does this sometimes, gets very businesslike and official in the bedroom when he’s trying to communicate something he wants. Greg hates the fact that it turns him on now; it’s almost Pavlovian. One day the wires will get crossed in his brain and he’ll end up unbearably hard in a meeting about marketing campaigns whilst Tom waxes assertively about budgets.
“Uh-huh, okay, sure,” Greg says. He feels unusually nervous, his heart is thrumming a harder rhythm in his chest that he can hear in his ears. He’s watching Tom undo his pants, tug them down his hips, leaning in to fit his mouth over his shaft, soaking the material of his underwear, “What if I can’t—“
“Greg,” Tom says, a little sharply, “We’ll just… Cross that fucking bridge when we get to it, okay?”
