Summary
Without his brother's brain or anyone's money, Ian knows that the only way he can be a college ball pitcher is by getting a baseball scholarship. But even with his work ethic and optimistic attitude, his goal feels more and more unattainable as days leave and obstacles come.
When Mickey told his probation officer that as a kid, playing baseball always got his mind off of things, he expected a sympathetic nod and the end of a sleep-inducing conversation - not getting convinced to join a team.
Still, taking a swing and risking striking out is better than never stepping up to the plate.

Summary
Steve’s life is good. He’s managed to keep Dustin safe, coming up on six years of the two of them criss-crossing the Midwest, tracking down the monsters who are still slipping through the cracks between worlds, and ending them. And he’s got PK686766, who he met in an anonymous chatroom and whose emails are now kinda the highlight of his day. And who can maybe give him a little advice on what to do when a guy you thought was dead suddenly returns out of nowhere, and is now apparently set on blowing up your life.
Eddie’s life is fine. He’s alive, for one thing. Has gotten pretty good by now at his new gig, letting Uncle Sam point him like a cannon at extra-dimensional nasties and go “boom.” Sure, things are a little more complicated now that Steve Harrington has decided to be a massive bitch about Eddie’s attempts to stop his and Dustin’s homicidal amateur crusade against the forces of darkness. But he’s got the next message from Capt200Free waiting in his inbox, and a growing feeling that maybe he doesn't want this little anonymous pen pal situation to stay anonymous much longer.

If the dude can sense how caught off guard he is, he doesn’t let it show; just throws another piece of cereal in his mouth and says, “I’m Eddie.”
Steve can only really say, “…Okay.”
The boy—or Eddie, he supposes—gives him a long, lingering look. “You must be Steve,” he says, and Steve isn’t sure how he knows that, but he feels weirdly prickly under the heavy attention. Especially when Eddie then follows this with an obvious, smirking once-over. “Robin was right,” he says, half to himself. “You are more impressive up close.”
or, the one where Steve and Eddie are camp counsellors, Eddie spends a lot of time shirtless, and Steve begrudgingly adopts half a dozen pre-teens.

That was when he saw them.
The two figures were folded over each other on the ground, a ring of dark shapes crumpled and curled around them. Webbed, membranous wings fluttered lifelessly in the wind, lifting at odd angles like plastic bags on the interstate.
But Steve could barely see them.
His ears rang, his vision reduced to a greyish tunnel as he recognised the wooly texture of Dustin’s ghillie suit.
No.
Steve’s feet tripped beneath him as he staggered down the hill, moving towards them.
No hero moves, his thoughts washed through his mind in a seasick, rolling fashion. He could already see the dark wash of blood, soaking the ground like ink around them, as he bolted forward.
I said no hero moves.
…
Steve Harrington, ex-lifeguard and babysitter extraordinaire, happens to be blessed with knowledge of first aid. Eddie is the recipient of this aid, and as he recovers he must learn to live with the fact that he owes his life to a prom-king with a 12 step haircare routine. This would be easier if he didn’t find said prom king so uncomfortably attractive.
And if the world would stop ending for five minutes.
