Just so you know, I cried a river every single time I re-read this story. Nothing more painful than reading an innocent little child who only longs for a loving family and friends, having to go through all the mistreatment from the people who is supposed to care and love him. Even in death, he choose to be revived just so the one he loves won't be sad or worst die. If I can physically go into this story, I will. Little Estel is such an adorable and innocent child, I need to hug and protect him. Also, enjoy this little thing that I thought of as I read this story :
Canon!Elrond, looking at Canon!Aragorn and suddenly hugging him.
C!Aragorn, confused : Lord-
C!Elrond : Ada.
C!Aragorn, sighing : Ada, what are you doing?
C!Elrond, still hugging C!Aragorn tightly : I will _never_ do that to you.
C!Aragorn, on the verge of suffocating from his Ada's hugging session but decide to just let it be, patting on his Ada's back : I know, Ada. You give me the most wonderful childhood I could ever ask for. And look! I'm your healthy grown up son with the most loving family!
C!Elrond, chuckling and releasing C!Aragorn from his death hug but not before fondly kissing his forehead : And you will forever be my son that I love until the end of Arda.
So, yeah. C!Elrond is the embodiment of "I only have Child Estel for a day and a half, but if anything happen to him, I will kill everyone in this room and then myself."

A beautiful albeit brief story of two Kings meeting each other. Regarding the cloak, I imagined that Estel, now Aragorn, has quite forgotten the origin of the cloak; although, he did remember a tall stature and long golden hair, which he mistook for Glorfindel for several years until he met Thranduil again. I could imagine on the day where he entrusted captured Gollum to the Mirkwood Elves, he stumbled upon the same description that had been comforting him in his dreams, and tears unbidden he shed as the memory, fragmented that it is, finally reveal itself to him. And Thranduil, long has he not seen the child who he has carried and love for some time, opened up his arm and said, "Come here, child. For my promise has not been broken and we have meet each other again."

‘I never wanted children,’ Bilbo said. ‘Or marriage or any of that.’ He looked up into Elrond’s gentle grey eyes. ‘But you could make almost anyone change their mind, I’m sure.’
Elrond smiled over Estel’s head. ‘Is that a confession, Mr Baggins?’ his voice was light with mirth.
Bilbo snorted. ‘No, no, you brat,’ he said, forgetting for a moment who he was speaking to. Or maybe not forgetting. It all slipped out so easily.
Bilbo looked away from Elrond and Estel, over the valley. He watched the river as it ran silver, trailing away. It laughed as it ran. The sound echoed through the valley.
‘That’s how you find the valley, isn’t it?’ he said, musing out loud. ‘You follow the river.’

“When the company is in Rivendell, they encounter child Aragorn (Estel), who can't help but be excited at meeting dwarves. One of the dwarves starts telling him about the quest, and Estel decides to follow them. Cue panicked Elrond who sends an Elvish army after them. I'll leave it up to you how this influences everything else (though I'd prefer AU, not cannon).”

The very dangerous, not safe at all journey of Estel Elrondion ft. everyone's shorten lifespan because of the precocious and rambuctious child that just could not stay in one place.

Never have I ever bookmark a separate work from it's series but I think it has to be done to this because of the absolute pain that it had wrought me. Here I thought that reading through Aragorn's days of torture is painful enough, and then the writer has the brilliant idea to add Estel pleading for his Ada to save him from the pain.
....Excuse me, I need to go cry again.
