Summary
Childe's life post the Osial incident has settled into something of normalcy. He has a comfortable (if not a bit boring) 9-5 job at the bank, he has loads of free time to waste, and he gets to experience whatever Liyue has to offer, at his own pace, frequently accompanied by Zhongli.
However, this idyllic picture is shattered the day Childe receives a letter from the Tsaritsa, summoning him back to Snezhnaya, immediately.
He is crushed by the news. He has expected it – it was bound to happen, eventually, but the message still daunts him. How is he supposed to say goodbye to Liyue so suddenly? How is he going to say goodbye to Zhongli, the only person he can call a friend?
To his surprise, the god offers to travel with him, and so they set on a journey to the northern lands of everwinter. They just forget about one important thing – reptiles don’t do well in freezing cold.
Which is why Childe now has to deal with his own grumpy Archon, the constant scheming and bickering of the other Harbingers, and a very sleepy and very clingy dragon.

Summary
When visiting another country, it is easy to forget that the customs of one's own nation don't apply there. This is the problem Childe finds himself facing as he remembers that it is not, in fact, normal to kiss your friends in Liyue. What makes it worse is that the person he kissed just so happens to be the man he's crushing on, Zhongli.
